Top Tips on How to Enjoy Winter Trips in Your Motorhome or Caravan

Wintery Caravan Trip

Don’t panic! There is no need to cancel plans due to the cold, frosty weather! With a bit of preparation, your caravan or motorhome can be ready for the road just like any other season. In this blog we have included a few tips that will make winter trips a breeze.

Booking the perfect place

Many sites remain open during winter, these can be found online. Both Uk Clubs – The Caravan & Motorhome Club and The Camping & Caravanning Club – allow you to specifically search using location and date range for your perfect trip away.

Gas

Propane (Red Calor Bottle) is a great winter gas as butane (Blue Calor Bottle) struggles to work efficiently below temperatures such as -2C, so propane is recommended as an efficient all year round gas.

Tyres

Preparing for driving in wet, icy or snowy conditions is a must when planning a winter trip. It might be time to consider fitting new winter tires before departing or checking your tyres to ensure they are road safe.

Battery Maintenance

Cold temperatures can affect battery performance. Ensure your battery is in good condition and fully charged before your trip.
